From long ago, the saints of India and China were practicing it. Gradually, It became a part of the Indian culture.

Meditation can be defined as to looking into oneself. According to the medical researches, meditation can even control the secretion of neuro-hormones, which affects our health positively. Above all, it helps in supplying oxygen into our brain and consequently we revitalize. So, meditation creates a great impact on our body and mind.

How to Get Started:

Here are some ways to get started with meditation. I will limit my guidelines to the easy and effective ways of meditation those are helpful to me-

? Meditation is not harmful by any means. Even if you are not successful with meditation, which is next to impossible, it will not harm you by any way.

? Meditation can be done anywhere, anytime and at any mental or physical state. But it will be very good if you have a room of your own in your home.

? Try to find a period of time when you are absolutely free and there is less chance to be disturbed. As you go deeper into your mind, any disturbance will break your concentration.

? In the early stage, do not meditate when you are too much depressed or mentally disturbed. In that case, if you do so, you will not be able to concentrate and consequently lose your faith on meditation.

? It is best to do it at the morning and at the night before you go to bed.

? Sit straight. Your spine should be upright. Relax for some time in your pose.

? Try to calm every part of your body starting from the tip of the legs and ending at the top of your head. Make your whole body still but relaxed.

? After that, try to watch over your mind. Let it go anywhere it wants. Do not hold your mind back. But carefully watch its path. After some time, you will be astonished to watch yourself thinking something that you would never imagine. But be calm always.

? Do not bother about the results. After a month or so, you will see that your streams of thoughts are becoming centralized. You are on the way to success then.

? Do not be disheartened if you fail. Try it again and again. You will surely succeed.

? Keep going, and you will feel such healthiness you could not ever imagine.

As you keep going with these procedures, you may sometimes peculiar. Sometimes you may sweat excessively, sometimes you may shiver. Do not be afraid of these things, as these are natural in the procedures. But if you become very much afraid while doing meditation, immediately stop there and take rest for some time. About Author
